PIVOTE is our voter engagement and registration initiative, empowering youth with the knowledge and tools to mobilize their communities in the democratic process. Through hands-on education, we instill the importance of civic participation, equipping young leaders to register voters and advocate for informed decision-making. Recognizing the barriers faced by underserved communities, we provide essential support—sharing voting locations, ballot drop box information, and offering translation services—ensuring that every voice is heard, every vote is counted, and our people exercise their fundamental right to shape their future. This program is supported and funded by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation's civic engagement grant.

In 2024, we hosted a transformative workshop dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of Polynesian cultural attire creation. Led by world-renowned Pasefika designers Afa Ah Loo and Joleen Ta’ase, this gathering provided a space for Pacific Islanders to deepen their knowledge of sewing traditional garments like the puletasi, while fostering cultural pride and community connection. Participants gained hands-on experience in sewing and design, ensuring that these invaluable skills continue to thrive in the diaspora. Beyond artistry, this workshop also created pathways for workforce and entrepreneurship opportunities, addressing the need for skilled seamstresses who specialize in culturally authentic attire. Through this experience, we empowered our community to sustain and celebrate our traditions with both creativity and craftsmanship.

Our 60-Day Shoe Drive was a heartfelt community effort to collect new and gently used shoes for those in need during the winter season. Running through January 5th, 2024, this initiative extended its impact beyond local communities, reaching third-world countries and our island nations across the Pacific. With the support of generous donors and dedicated partners—KissMyBoba, PhilGood Cuts, and the Samoan Community Development Center—we successfully hosted multiple drop-off sites, making it easier for our community to contribute. This effort exemplified the power of collective giving, ensuring warmth, comfort, and dignity for those who need it most.
